I definitely recommend reading Wilde's fairy tales, if you're looking for something after reading the obligatory "Dorian Gray" and "Importance of Being Earnest". A less sarcastic, dramatic reading that shows off the tenderness in Wilde's writings.

This is such a great collection of short tales. It teaches a lot of things and tells of great morals. I think what I liked the best is The Nightingale and Rose. It is just so sad and heart-breaking.

This only gets 3 stars from me because although you can clearly see Wildes character coming through, I found that the stories were far too "mainstream" like all the children stories you've already read just a little remade.

There are much better collections out there.

These stories all have a moral point. Giving completely of yourself, the abusive friendships, etc. The tales are more sad than happy. I felt they correlated with religious parables and I didn't fully agree with their messages.

A fun collection of Wilde's stories are geared, in many ways, towards a younger audience. They are highly moralistic, with very clear messages about living generous, kind, and loving life. Not for those who are looking for something like his famous plays, but well worth a read if you want a better feel for his canon.

This read a lot like a fairytale which worked well based on the tone and general storyline that Wilde had established. The titular Prince was likeable and the story was easy to follow and understanding the moral implications of. I adore Wilde's style so much and it is continually evident here!
