This book was awesome!! I dont normally like second books quite as much as first books but this one was far better! Conflict was perfect, keeps you guessing and second guessing and when you think you have it figured out you dont!

You know how when TV show builds up all the suspense, drama, and action in an episode and then by the end of the episode you're dying to know what it is, but then the producers just cut it off and say, "TBC..."? Yeah, I fudging hate that, and I got that with Demonglass, only instead of waiting a day or a week for the new episode {when it's all revealed}, I have to wait a damn year! ARGH!!! I turn the page on my kindle and I just see that I finished the book and I'm desperately flipping the e-pages, because DAMMIT I WANT MY ENDING! I was disappointed with the lack of a relationship build up between Cal and Sophie, but I guess that's to emphasize how into Archer she is, I thought Cal was cute though... And I'm sad to say that I cannot remember who he is. I keep banging myself on the head, but to no avail {I just got lots of brain damage}. The third book is highly anticipated by me. This is why I hate reading book-series that just start out, because I'm dying to know about the next book. *head/desk* I did enjoy this one more than Hex Hall. I enjoyed the development of Sophie trying to understand her powers instead of rejecting them. The action was there, which is always a plus. Can't wait for number 3!

It's been a while since I read a book in one sitting. I snagged this from the library after finishing Hex Hall. Very fast-paced but also definitely middle book. And not enough Archer.

This book was awesome. Cal is awesome. Now i don't know who i want to end up with Sophie and the end of this book, everything is shot to hell. I totally can't wait for the next book to see what is going to happen with Sophie and her family and friends.

One thing this series definitely has going for it is excellent momentum. I didn't just read the first book in one go, I read the first two. For all its ups (and it has several, including continuing the really natural voices from the first book as it introduced new characters), it does suffer from middle book syndrome: it's really just half a story, leading into the final book of the trilogy.

Well, I guess that just means I'll have to read all three books in one go. Diving in now...

This book was awesome!

This series has certainly took me by surprise. I never expected it to be this good, especially when I saw the covers. But I loved the first book and I love this one.

But while I love this book, I'm having some issues listing the reasons. Maybe it's because I finished it literally two minutes ago and I'm freaking out a little. I'm still gonna try to compose my self and think though.

1. I really like Sophie. I always hate it when I read a book and don't like the protagonist. And if the protagonist is female, it also leads me to have make up a list of reaons I don't like her because of all those people that go around throwing the word "sexist" like they get paid for it. But like I said, I like Sophie. Not only is she a strong and smart character, but she's also really funny and just a really good person.

2. I loved the relationship between Sophie and her father. I was rooting for the both of them to get a chance to be a real family. I also ship Sophie's mom and dad.

3. The pace of the book is really good. It's fast but not too fast. It lets you take a breather and be happy but still keeps you worried and on your toes. The book is really interesting and I had a hard time putting it down everytime I picked it up.

4. There isn't a clear like between good and evil in this book. In the beginning of the series, Sophie was told how the Prodogium were good and the Eye bad. But not all Prodigium are good, so how can all Eye be bad? Guess we'll be finding out more about the mysterious Eye in the next book.

And that it for this review. Hope I managed to write something that made sense. Hightly recommend the series and the book. It's a great read...

One thing though, in a scene, Jenna could see herself in the mirror. But she's a vamp and in this series, vamps can't be seen in mirrors. Was it a mistake? Was it deliberate and going to mean something in the future? Or was that some special kind of mirror? Hm...

More like 3.5 point, but still good.
Fast read, a lot of action, but heroine cries too much, without being whiny.
More crying or being whiney and I would have been reminded of: [b:Under the Final Moon|18723590|Under the Final Moon (Underworld Detection Agency, #6)|Hannah Jayne|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1392025283s/18723590.jpg|26592628].
Also the heroine is constantly unsure of her powers and how to use them.
Beware, I read the UK-Edition which is the only one sold to me as a Kindle eBook in Germany from Amazon.De. This is named "Raising Demons". As this has in the past (with Tess Gerritsen nearly twice, and once with James Ellroy) led to buying a book twice, you have been warned.
Recommended fluffy fast read with a pesky love-triangle, just so you know.

This YA book had me siting on the edge of my seat. Amazing intrigue, mystical events and tears fill the pages. If you read Hex Hall, you do not want to miss this one !
Sophie travels to England with her absent Father to learn her Demon ways. She travels with her friend the vampire Jenna and Cal to this wonderfully huge house in the English countryside. there they meet several new and dangerous characters that shed an dark light on events happening in their world. Sophie learns she has a betrothed, stirring new feelings. Archer is still out there, still with the Eye. They meet up again under terrible circumstances....
