I couldn't finish this somehow. The seperation of the characters and the hunt that made the first book so exciting turned out to be unbearable in the sequel. There wasn't any real point in the story, the characters kept explaining what had been happening in the first book and development wasn't to be found.
But what probably annoyed me the most was the behaviour in action scenes. Verbal provocation and discussions and telling each other how they're gonna kill? I'll pass.

I didn't like this one at all which is so terribly disappointing because I liked the first 2 volumes so much!
Just one chase scene to another - no real plot. A bit disappointing.
Another fantastic adventure with fully-formed characters and a lot of interesting ideas. In some respects this is a deeper book than Glass Books of the Dream Eaters, in that it touches on questions of what makes us who we are. Once again the conspiracy stuff is a little bit hard to untangle and fully get, so once again I didn't bother and didn't really care. I devoured this and can't wait for the next one. Because the chapters alternate between Svenson, Celeste, and Chang, this felt much shorter than it actually is.
Here Be Spoilers!
If this book taught us anything, it's to never believe that any character is really dead, but the relatively unceremonious way in which both Chang and Swenson are dispatched at the end really stunned me. I think this is good--I appreciate it when an author is willing to confound my expectations, and killing two characters I really cared about certainly counts. I really want to see what Celeste's revenge looks like...

This book isn't as good as the previous one, which is disappointing. It's a lot more confusing, for one - not as complicated but more...muddled. It very much feels like the middle book in a trilogy, which I'm pretty sure it is, even though I can't find any information about the final book, if it does indeed exist. I hope it does, because this one ends on a very bleak note, and I wanted it fixed! It seems almost all of the characters are dead, and I can't believe that could be true. Or perhaps I just don't want it to be true. Either way, I hope there is another book, because if this is the end it's very dark and depressing and unfinished.
I enjoyed this book, not quite as much as the first, but still well enough that I was disappointed when I turned the final page and found myself left again at a cliff hanger! I thought that this book would be the end, but apparently I must wait for another book! Like the first book this one was suspenseful and full of intrigue. However, it was less of a mystery than the first book, but some interesting elements of the blue glass are revealed throughout the book.
Although I usually don't like broken narratives this book still had plenty of other elements that made up for the fact that just when it got interesting the narrative switched to another character.
I would have liked to see more interaction between the three main characters, we only see a tiny bit in the beginning and even then there is no scene when all three characters are together until the final scene.
The best thing that I have to say about this book it that I look forward...I actually want to get my hand on the final book right now to find out what happens!
However, I'm afraid that may never happen since the first novel in the series "the Glass Books of the Dream Eaters" did poorly in sales (sadly) and Mr. Dahlquist only had a two book deal with Bantam. I hope he doesn't let publishers get him down and delivers his readers from the suspense eventually.
