"Do you...believe in magic?"
Never I thought I would say this but yes I do. This was so beautiful.
I absolutely loved the unique artstyle, the metaphors embedded into this, the issues with society. Made me question myself.
I've always been told to go to university, get a good job, settle down with a nice husband and have kids and then die. That's supposed to be a fulfilling life but I've always never felt that way. I've never wanted kids or wanted to settle down, never wanted to be rich. I just want to live in a nice house with enough to travel and have a good life but whenever I bring this to my parents...that's not what a normal adult is supposed to do. I'm not supposed to get off the smooth asphalt and go into the flower garden.
It really made me question what I want. What do I really want to be when I'm older? Do I always have to be top of the class? Am I a failure if I don't do that? I feel like I've got to do some soul searching after this and I think it says a lot about this webtoon.
At first I didn't get why so many people liked it but as I kept reading, I enjoyed it more and more. I found myself relating to the main character. I didn't have the best childhood and always wanted to grow up and be an adult so that I could have money for myself and be independent like her. I've been told to be a doctor, a lawyer, anything that makes me money but I don't think those jobs would be fulfilling. The main character here wants to be a magician and while I still don't know what I want to be, what makes me happy, I want to try and find something that fits for me.
I think this is something that everyone should read.

An engaging manga about adulthood, poverty and magic. I was enthralled by the aesthetics as well as by the characters, charming, wholesome and relatable.
This amenable story has a powerful message behind that all of us should learn: do not give up your dreams!

It was 3 years ago and re-reading it made me feel melancholic.

Wow. That was really poignant. Sometimes you encounter manhwas like this and they surprise the hell out of you. It was quite short at only 27 chapters and simple even but nonetheless, it's impactful and moving. Better than most lengthy novels out there.

A story about a girl on the brink of adulthood. Initially she is so focussed on being an adult, that she forgets to enjoy life, but with the help of a magician she slowly starts to understand that adulthood isn't all that when you let go of your inner child completely.
This comic was recommended to me by my brother - and reading it has once again confirmed that we have different tastes when it comes to storytelling. In my opinion, it was incredibly slow and on the nose. I did not connect with the characters at all, which made the story lacking.

a solid story, I liked that it was a bit too heavy at times. The gorgeous art elevated it to one of the most dazzling in a medium like graphic novels [manhwa, to be precise] that I've stumbled on. I also liked that the ending was left to our imagination.
I would've given it a 3.5 star (a very good example of how the rating system should include half stars!).
