The only thing I'll say, "Do you believe in magic?"
This is another book that was recommended to me by Goodreads' algorithm early on when I first join. I put it aside because at the time I was totally unfamiliar to Korean manhwa & their style. You can say that I've regretted my decision & glad I read it now.
It tells the story of A-Yi, a poor but bright student who dreamed to be a magician when she was little but ditched the idea as she grew up because now she realizes that money is what controlling the world. And one day she met the rumoured magician that goes around the neighbourhood asking people whether they believe in magic.
At first I thought the author was trying to be funny when picking the names for the characters. Later on in the story, I actually understood why and the philosophy behind their names. Overall, the story was quite brilliant. This is the type of story we should be teaching in schools for the kids to understand that there's much more to life other than school. Took half star out because the ridiculous notion Ah-Yi had in the middle of the story which annoys me to no end.
For those wondering whether to read this, all I have for you is this: do you believe in magic? If you paused to contemplate for a response, regardless of what your answer, if I insist you read this book to fully make up your mind.
The art is breathtaking and makes you think. It's ART. Lol.
It's 27 chapters of wonder and heartbreak. Read it!
