Typical Detective Story interlinked with a heart breaking plot of what a mother will do for her child and running aside this plot the harsh reality of children living homeless. The emotional gut punch of an ending brings it up from a good story to a great one.

I quit after a very unnecessary graphically detailed rape scène. I didn't get triggered luckily but I was extremely annoyed that is just kept going on and on.

The relationship between Grace and Cleo is starting to get on my nerves for some reason. Quite obvious from the start what this one's going to be about but overall I enjoyed it.

I will not be posting my review for this book until SMP addresses their employee’s Islamophobic, racist and queerphobic statements. For more information, check out @readersforaccountability on TikTok and Instagram for information about the SMP boycott.

It was long for the story line, unfortunately predictable, but still kept me wanting to see how he wrapped it up at the end. I also really wish the graphic sexual assault scene had more relevance...since it was a little much, even for someone who reads crime novels all the time.
