No fim das contas ele só queria uma conexão, e ela só queria se livrar da avó. Acho que ela nem amava aquele cara lá mesmo, só via ele como uma fuga

"and what will there be for me to dream about when I have already been so happy in real life beside you!"
Damn, I cried. I truly enjoyed this book, two lonely people searching for someone to share some words with. I loved the dreamer, him wishing her well at the end was truly beautiful, being nervous to share his feelings, I related.
Reading some reviews about the book, some people believed the protagonist to be in love with the idea of love, meaning that he didn't really fall in love with Nastenka, but with the attention she provided and he desperately needed. And I completely agree, as the protagonist said himself, he was a dreamer and his whole life was lived through dreams, therefore he projeceted all of these fantasies onto the first person that came by. However, I don't necessarily see this as a bad thing, I believe it's something we all do, in a more reasonable and sane way; we imagine how our future partner could be and the things we want to share with them, in the hopes that when the time comes, we are able to play out these wishes. Similarly, I saw the theory that Nastenka doesn't exist and is rather this manifestation of his fantasies, which really ties in what I said before.
Overall, really recommend it, it's my first Dostoyevski and I'm excited to read some more.
