This is a sweet picture book, very simple language, lovely photos, and compelling message, mainly that boys and girls should be equal. That the benefits that boys have should stretch to his sisters and mother and daughters, etc.

Perfect picture book to get the idea across early in life. As the picture book says, being born a boy or a girl is simply a matter of chance.

Photos are of children, boys, families, from all over the third world.

Thanks to Netgalley for making this book available for an honest review.

This book will spark conversations with children about many issues: equality between the sexes, the importance of and availability of education, poverty, geography, and other cultures. Each page has a beautiful photograph of children from all over the world.

I received an ARC from NetGalley.

This book holds a short, simple, but important message. If we want gender equality and the end of gender-based systemic violence against women and girls, boys and men need to do something. It is not up to women to fix the situation of gender inequality, maybe not possible for only 50% of the population to care for change to happen. Men and boys have to care as well.
