okay i’m not going to lie, when Lux was first introduced i genuinely thought to myself who the f*ck does she think she is? (i know now, she’s that girl), but then i thought back to all my very morally grey mmc’s and quickly had to shut my mouth. if i can swoon over them, i sure as hell can swoon over her.
i really loved the plot of this book, it was unlike anything i have read before. its your typical it girl x bad boy, except the it girl is just as grumpy as our bad boy… and rightfully so. her brother is a struggling addict and her parents have little involvement, interest, or care. slate’s parents are gone and his sister is chronically ill leaving him as her sole caregiver and provider.
the revenge quickly unfolded but the betrayals continued on as they used each others weaknesses as collateral.
i love how much the two had in common regardless of being “worlds apart” as stated so many times. i love it when the characters just can’t stay away from each other. slate’s protectiveness over his loved ones was EVERYTHING.. (his revenge plot at the end? chef’s kiss.)
overall, it was extremely entertaining and once i got into it, i couldn’t put it down. i’m super excited for the next book!

I orginally read Jessica Jude’s first book, Ace of Betrayal, in this series as an ARC reader and loved it so much. I knew I had to sign up to be an ARC reader for the next book in the series! I loved reading this book and found myself staying up late needing to know what will happen between Slate & Lux! I loved how there were so many little easter eggs from the first book, Ace of Betrayal, however Queen of Vengeance can be a stand alone book but it does enhance the story if you read the first book! Anyways, I loved Jude’s writing style, plot for this book and ability to cover hard topics is a respectable manner, main characters, and story line of vengeance/romance! As Jude says in her book: Remember, the drug world is dangerous! ♠️♥️♣️♦️

I received an ARC copy of this book and it did not disappoint! I absolutely loved the dynamic between Slate and Lux. There was tension and heartbreak and lust. It was amazing. The plot twist was one I had thought of as a possibility but definitely didn’t see it being true. I liked this book way better than the first and I can’t wait to see where the third book takes us!

I absolutely fell in love with Lux and Slate. A rich girl meets a bad boy from the wrong side of town.
Lux could be your typical socialite, but she is so much more. Lux has a heart for revenge and Slate is the man to help her get it. Lux isn’t afraid to get her hands dirty and won’t take no for an answer.

The chokehold this book had on me from first chapter was next level. I read it in one sitting and could not put it down. I am a sucker for a dual point of view always, and this one did not disappoint. I love getting to see both sides and the different versions of what is happening. These characters really are everything and have so much depth and are filled with so much baggage. This book hits all the marks.
Lux and Slate give all the banter, push me pull me vibes and the best angsty tension. I kept waiting for their moment to come and let me tell you when it hit…holy smokes it hit, the spice is spicing!! I was instantly taken with Slate’s protective nature over Lux and his need to always be near her even when she didn’t know it.
This book has all the twists and turns and suspense, and I found myself wanting more of Lux and Slade at the end. I could have kept going with these two for hours.
I CANNOT WAIT for book three!!
Queen of Vengeance in the 2nd in the series but can be read as a standalone. Although, I highly recommend reading Ace of Betrayal before, to get to know more about the other characters and their backstory.
