dark mysterious sad fast-paced

“How is it possible to love someone who represents everything you hate?”

How could a biker be a bad boy and lovable at the same time? You should ask Lux Colombia-Clarke. I wanted to find out and couldn’t put this enemies-to-lovers book down.

I enjoyed this novel more than Ace of Betrayal, perhaps because I wasn’t a fan of Lux in the first book of the Hand of Revenge series. In Queen of Vengeance, we get to see her vulnerable side, her sentimental nature, and the care she has for her loved ones. On the other side, the morally gray and captivating MMC, Slate, is overprotective and thoughtful.  The tension, angst, and banter were fiery. Even though plot was good and engaging, I wished for more depth in the characters’ backstories. I definitely wasn’t expecting the some of events and twists towards the end.

Read this if you love the Gossip Girl TV Show and Blair Waldorf is your favorite character.

Once again, thanks to the author Jessica Jude for providing me an advance copy of Queen of Vengeance.

I absolutely loved this book. It was a super quick read - once I started I couldn't put it down. I needed to see what happened between Lux and Slate - from enemies to lovers and so much more.

As I started this story, I expected to see a different side of Lux than we had previously seen, more background to provide insight as to how and why she acts the way she does, but I was not prepared for the depth of softness and vulnerability that were layered under her calculated & frosty exterior. Slate was a bit of a surprise in several ways, he has his own code of ethics and rules, and understands that Lux doesn't fit into his world or life, but can't resist the pull she has on him. His heart and mind are torn, as he does all he can for his sister, while also helping Lux fight her demons. The twists and suspense, the spice and emotional havoc, the sacrifices made... it is all wrapped up perfectly as they fight to the end for their HEA. A delightfully edgy romance that sucks you in while you try to solve the mystery of The Wolf. highly recommend!!

I was lucky enough to receive an advanced copy of this book and I loved it!

Following the first book in the series, Ace of Betrayal, this book follows another member of the friend group, Lux and picks up on some of the flags raised in the first book (although you don’t really need to have read the first book for this one to make sense).

Lux and Slate are brilliant characters - much more than just the it girl and bad boy, and the dual POV means we see the world through their eyes and feel their fears & doubts, and their feelings about each other as the story progresses.

There’s so much tension and lots twists and turns throughout, and it really is un-put-downable! If you like enemies to lovers, you’ll love this romance - just check the trigger warnings before hand as there’s violence, drugs and spice in this one!

The only thing that was “missing” for me in this one having enjoyed the first book was the friend group - yes they all appear, but they’re in it far less. I want to know all their stories, and I reckon we’ll get that in the next book(s).

Having read Ace of Betrayal a few weeks before this arrived, I had already met one MC and most of the side characters. I dived straight in, and was hooked so quickly! Loved the plot, the writing is lovely to follow. Spicy, romantic, twisty... Ends with a set up for the next book as well. Highly recommend!
Disclosure: I received an ARC copy of this book. This review is my honest opinion.

I am so grateful to have been able to be an ARC reader for this book. I was hooked from the dedication to the very last page. This was a book that I could not stop thinking about when I had to put it down. The ending was very satisfying. I love a good revenge plot with a bad boy. My take away from this book is to never play about your parking spot; it may just change your life trajectory.

I was lucky enough to be able to read this as an ARC.  I completely lost myself in this book.  One second I was starting chapter 10 and next thing I knew I was on chapter 26.    From happiness to tears this book had such a hold on me.
