I have to say I have never read a sports romance series where it's only about one couple. Nowadays unless it's a fantasy, I don't usually see a series that revolves around one couple. And I am very happy to see this new take on sports romance where it's about the same MCs and it's broken into bite sized history.
I have never read Lisa Suzanne before. Even though it's a series, I like how she did not waste reader's time in feeding filler and cliche story. She took her time and crafted her way through it very cautiously, avoiding any traps of needless cringe lines. Samantha and Aaron played Jolene and Lincoln's characters with utmost superbness. I thoroughly enjoyed the entire audiobook and I cannot wait to listen to the rest of the series.

Lisa Suzanne was a new to me author who I discovered this year. I have been enjoying her books. She has written several great sports romances that I’ve read this year including this one. This is the first book in the Vegas aces: the coach series and it’s a tense enemies to lovers, second chance, football romance. The book is told in dual pov following the FMC, Jolene and the MMC, Lincoln. There are several great themes and tropes featured in this book. This first book is packed with tension and gives off fated mates vibes. I can’t wait to see how the story evolves.
The Audio is dually narrated by Samantha Brentmore and Aaron Shedlock. The Audio was an entertaining listen, and the narration was a good representation for the main characters. They embodied the emotions and angst very well. The audio was well paced and flowed well. It does end on a cliffhanger so be prepared for that.
Themes & Tropes:
🩶Enemies to Lovers
🖤Second Chance Romance
🤍Family Rivals
🩶First and One True Love
🖤Single Parent
🤍Forced Proximity
Overall liked this read. I’m looking forward to book 2!

It’s a new season for The Vegas Aces, and that means change.
Lincoln Nash is excited for his new role at the Aces, but what he wasn’t prepared for was the reporter who brings back memories from his past.
This is full of so much angst and tension and hurt feelings. There is lust, and frustration and a need for distance… will their past keep them apart or push them together? The rivalry is long and filled with pain.
This was such a great angsty beginning and Samantha Brentmoor and Aaron Shedlock bring the angst to life. They are both amazing.

Rivalry is part one of five in the Vegas Aces: The Coach series. I could not put this down! Reading/listening to this feels like a TV mini-series. In this first part, we are introduced to Jolene and Lincoln. They find themselves unexpectedly reunited in their professional lives with the Vegas Aces NFL team—Lincoln as a potential head coach and Jolene as an aspiring lead sports reporter. They were childhood sweethearts and have a complicated history. Unfortunately, a longstanding family feud has kept them apart for years. Now that they've been thrust back into each others' lives, they must confront unresolved issues and old feelings. This is such a fun story! The plot builds slowly, laying a detailed foundation for the characters and setting us up for more dramatic developments throughout the series.
Samantha Brentmoor and Aaron Shedlock narrate the story using dual-style narration. Their performances capture the depth of emotion and complexity of Lincoln and Jolene's relationship. Set against the backdrop of professional sports, the story explores the themes of second chances and unresolved past conflicts, with Romeo and Juliet vibes. I can't wait to continue the series and discover what happens next.

Such a roller coaster of emotions in this story.
So much was outlined in this fast paced audiobook to get us started and hooked.
The narrators of course sets the stage for the start of this series of events.
Samantha Brentmoor and Aaron Shedlock were perfect pairing for this series as they portrayed Characters Lincoln Nash and Jolene Bailey’s story!
It’s Perfection.
I’m starting off first of all by say this is definitely a retelling twist of a modern day Romeo and Juliet story.. Where the parent’s rivalry wrecked whatever could be between the young lovers Lincoln and Jolene.
Giving her up was one of the hardest things I ever had to do, and I did it for him.
It still didn’t make him proud.
Lincoln~
Jolene Bailey
Now a single mom who’s now also the Correspondent for the football team that is now being coached by the one person she thought she had gotten over.
The Vegas Aces could've hired anyone as their head coach. Despite my protests, they chose my enemy, Lincoln Nash.
Jolene Bailey~
But despite their family history and years passed between them since he left she now finds that she still have strong feeling towards him and wonder how in the world is she gonna survive working closely with Lincoln Nash and not have these intense emotions.
Yeah this girl wants this man bad she’s imagining him doing naughty things to her. all the .time!
Lincoln Nash
Now Head Coach to the Vegas Aces
Now finds himself face to face with the one woman he hasn’t gotten over.. years has past yet he stills have these feelings towards this woman that he shouldn’t being that she is the enemy of the family ..well his father..
now Jolene Bailey is looking more beautiful than ever and his need is only being ratchet up even more with her being in his presence so often.
He has a job to do.. but this woman is a walking distraction and he doesn’t know how long before he gives in to his needs for her.
yup Que the angst Que the stolen moments and Que the moment they will collide!
Yup and I’m all here for it!
Lisa Suzanne have a way of edging us in these series so of course we are left hanging and wanting more, so if you know you know that there’s a lot of angst frustration and spice before the end with a HEA!
But yup she’s so gonna stretch this one out but it’s gonna be so good,
Especially with two of the most amazingly talented narrators Samantha Brentmoor and Aaron Shedlock retelling this story, it’s going to be interesting and HOT !
Stay tuned.
A Passionate enemies-to-lovers romance set in Vegas! A sports correspondent and head coach reignite their teenage spark in this fast-paced, spicy read.

Rivalry (Vegas Aces: The Coach #1) is an enemies to lovers, sports romance.
Lincoln and Jolene’s sexual chemistry could be felt throughout the story. Their past is definitely not over or resolved as they are forced to work together. Tensions are high as they deal with family rivalry drama. This is just the beginning of what I’m sure is going to be a fun and wild romance. Excited for the next book.
Samantha Brentmoor and Aaron Sherlock did a superb job narrating this book and bringing Jolene and Lincoln to life.

Rivalry by Lisa Suzanne is book 1 of a 5 book series (Rivalry, Play Call, Game Play, Overtime, and Final Score). I have wanted to read and listen to Linc and Jolene’s story for a long time now. I love a second chance and a bit of an older romance. Jolene and Linc were torn apart when their fathers had a huge falling out during their playing days as NFL players. You will find several tropes in this series: sports, forbidden, second chance, fake relationship, single mom, and enemies to lovers. I fell in love with this author when I read a different series also set in Las Vegas. Will Linc and Jolene stop fighting their feelings and decide to go against the feud between their families? If so, I bet sparks will fly. If you like these tropes, great characters, spicy scenes, and tension then I have a good feeling you will like this series! Samantha Brentmoor and Aaron Shedlock bring Jolene and Linc to life in your ears. I’ve listened to both of these narrators multiple times and have never been disappointed. Both, Samantha and Aaron are very talented voice actors bringing all the feels of passion, emotion, spice, and s*xiness to life in your ears so that the “movie” of the story plays perfectly in your mind.
