I picked this up hoping for a deeper dive into the philosophy of this period and particular thinker. However, whether due to the abridged editorial style or lack of first source content, I was left wanting more. I appreciate the clarity that came with the chapter headings and summaries, yet felt I was reading a middle school approved version of some larger, more complex ancient text.
