I thoroughly enjoyed this novel! “Last Woman Standing” by Amy Gentry (author of “Good as Gone”) was a phenomenal thriller with a fast pace and twists that propel the novel forward. The characters are interesting and memorable while the story even tells an important message regarding the #metoo movement. Revenge fantasies, threats, and victims becoming vigilantes, all with occasional comedy mixed in and a satisfying ending. I enjoyed this book a lot more than Amy Gentry’s last novel since the plot was more cohesive and overall gripping. Thank you to NetGalley for the free digital copy in exchange for an honest review!

It started off really slow but in the end, it was better than what I expected. Sometimes it was really easy to guess the "plot-twist" but sometimes predictable is good. Overall, I enjoyed it.

I was intrigued by the premise but realized I didn’t like any if the characters or the writing. Not something I actively disliked, but I jumped ahead to other books

This is a well-written and -paced novel that was fun to read. Overall I recommend it.

What made it hard for me is that Dana is supposed to be a standup comic--a GOOD standup comic. And the material written for her couldn't have been less funny! I know delivery makes the joke, but I just couldn't find a voice for the words that would elicit a giggle nevermind a real laugh. It distracted me from the story every time Dana did her act.

You should still read this book if you like women-centric revenge stories.

A very timely thriller about two women’s quest for revenge on the men who have assaulted or wronged them. While I am all for female empowerment, this one missed the mark for me. I felt like it was such an important topic with the #MeToo movement, but I had a very hard time connecting with the characters. I actually guessed the twist about 40% in. I didn’t love it, but I also didn’t hate it; it was just ok for me.

Thanks to Amy Gentry, Houghton Mifflin Harcourt and NetGalley for an advanced copy in exchange for an honest review.
