(3.5 stars) i’m honestly not super sure what to make of this book, it kind of made me miserable for 99% of it and i’m not entirely sure if the ending made it better or worse, but i also somehow couldn’t put it down? i think i needed to see what would happen because the idea of your husband abandoning you and your two children is so mortifying that i needed to see how the main character was going to handle it.

it was also reminiscent of ‘my year of rest and relaxation’. i think both ottessa moshfegh and elena ferrante have really similar voices and i’m excited to read more of both of them
