I initially gave Starling House 4/4.5 stars, but I’ve changed my mind because I couldn’t really come up with a reason I wasn’t rating it higher. I loved the depth of the characters and that they weren’t described as generically pretty or ridiculously good looking. And I really loved the language, particularly when describing the house.

3.5. The book was good but like the other review said, it was a book of almosts. If you split it into beginning middle and end, the middle was the best part. I would recommend it but don’t expect the best book you’ve ever read.
