A solid 3.5 stars from me.

This book was definitely intriguing with a concept that was new to me. I found the characters interesting and the issues they dealt with, very real and necessary to talk about. I like that there was actually a good plot and not just all smut haha. I will say that a lot of the words that were repeated were cringey and I couldn't get past them. Which ultimately led to me not enjoying the book so much. The emphasis on "innocence" throughout the story was the main one for me. Just didn't sit well with me at all. But other than that and "her heat", I feel like it was an enjoyable story.

* I received this ARC from Netgalley, in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own

I really enjoyed this story. Zoey is a strong woman and Rhys is a good man. Together they can stand against the world. While Zoey planned to get revenge and leave, she never planned on Rhys. He offers her something Zoey thought she wanted but soon finds out that she wants more. Can Zoey trust Rhys and give him her heart?
Zoey and Rhys are both strong but together they find that trust and leaning on someone can help you heal and find love. Their story is full of emotion. Zoey is a survivor, but she also is not afraid to lean on Rhys when needed. This is a hot and sexy read that pulled me in and kept me e pages. The characters are well developed, and their attraction cannot be denied and watching the two fight for their love made for a nice read.

Stacey knows how to write perfect characters that will own you and your feelings.

Watch Me is book #1 in her new Phoenix Series and I’m already hooked. I have been in a reading funk while suffering from rotator cuff surgery, but this was just the book to break that ice. Once I started this book it was so hard to put down. I always had to see what happened next between Rhys and Zoey, so before I knew it their store was over.

This series has other great characters with two of them being Elise and Archer. I can’t wait to see what their journey holds for us. With them two involved, it’s bound to be a blast.

⭐️1 STAR⭐️
This is going to be short, to the point, snarky and possibly spoilery, so be warned.

Girl plans revenge in a swanky secret sex club to confront her abusers from college, gets the attention of the most notorious bachelor of the city and ends up getting her HEA as well as new group of sex swingers friends in the process.

Nothing says revenge like giving your abusers a free sex show in which you lose your virginity.

Oh my bad, this was all about regaining "control".

Mkay.

I'm not impressed with my first try at this author's work. I was in a mood for something short and sexy, a palate cleanser in between books if you will but neither the writing, the characters develoment, or the plot—flimsy and more than a stretch, worked for me.

I know, the blurb is pretty self explanatory, my bad, or maybe I thought it would work for me but this whole revenge scheme grew sillier after each and every page turned. I should have kept my losses early on but kept on reading for some reason. That reason was not the sex. I skimmed the sex scenes so that's more than telling on my interest for this book.

Whew! This was a hot read. I went into this series thinking it was just going to be typical sexy dark-ish romance. I got so much more! I really liked that the main romance plot wasn't centered around the H and the h fighting their attraction. Once they got together, they were pretty much together. The plot is driven by the h's past and the H does everything he can to protect her. I immediately went and got the second book in the series and now I can't wait for the third to come out in October 2021!

I was sent this book after I requested it on Netgalley and all I can say is wow! Watch me is an easy read with loads of steam! First off, this book is not what it looks like from the surface. Yes, the book is what you'd expect from the summary. However, I was really pulled in when reading about Zoey's past trauma and how that has shaped her into the woman that she is today. I think Stacey Kennedy did a good job when it came to the topic of sexual assault. She didn't provide anything too graphic when it came to Zoey's past and I liked that much more than most authors covering the topic. Now, Rhys was an interesting character that had his own troubled past. I honestly expected Rhys to be a jerk based on his work, but that is so not true! He himself knows about being broken and angry at your situation, and I think this is why he connected to Zoey so much. I loved reading how he helped Zoey overcome her trauma and be able to see her future. This book was really touching and sweet. I loved it so much that I read it all in one sitting. I highly recommend this book!

Oh boy! Oh Boy! Do you ever get so engrossed in a book that anytime you have to attend to real life you are slightly pissy about it? This was me with Watch Me. From the Prologue on I was engrossed and could not put the book down! This is book one in a new series and it starts off with a bang.
How does one get justice when the very core of who they are is shaken. And how much justice is enough to be able to move forward in your life. Zoey went to The Phoenix to dole out her own brand of justice. The victim of assault Zoe needs to make those who violated her realize that she knows what they did and didn’t do. She need to let the perpetrators know that while she has been stunted they did not take everything from her. In those simple actions Zoey has gains so much more.
Enter Rhys Harrington. He is a man who must always be in control. To many things in his life have been outside his control so going forward he will be the one calling the shots!
I loved their journey to their HEA. This emotionally charged truly genuine romance is one for the ages. Once I picked it up I could not put it down. Kennedy writes stories that are unique and engaging. Zoey could be my friend or niece. Her conversations, her fears are all so real. The banter of this story is funny and absorbing. The relationships in this story are so real. Zoey’s roommates and Rhys’ friends add some much needed lightness to the story. I can’t not wait for the next offering in the series! This was a 5/5 star read for me. It might be the sexiest book of 2020!

Watch Me is the first book in Stacey Kennedy’s Phoenix series, and it has me eager for more. From the start, I was hooked on this one, and I’m desperate to see how things play out for the side characters I fell for.

Although Watch Me was a quicker read than I’d anticipated, there was plenty packed in it to keep me hooked throughout. It was a story with more elements than I’d anticipated, keeping me hooked with everything that played out. The characters were great together, the storyline packed a punch, and I was left eager for more of the world we were introduced to. There were plenty of great side elements, and I’m so eager for more of them.

Without a doubt, Watch Me has guaranteed I’ll be back for the next Phoenix book.

As a fan of BDSM and kink, I was excited when I got the chance to read Watch Me by Stacey Kennedy. It certainly didn’t let me down!

I am grateful to Kennedy for putting the CW’s in the front of her book. More authors need to do this.

To be completely honest, I was hesitant about how into this story I would be. The premise felt contrived when I started in but I was so glad to see I was wrong. I’ve read stories where an alpha male helps the sweet, battered and broken virgin overcome her hang ups and trauma and by the second sex scene she is miraculously cured by his amazing penis. Kennedy, thankfully, doesn’t do this at all.

Watch Me is a sexy romance that goes deeper – helping not only Zoey overcome her pain but also Rhys. I was very impressed at how well Kennedy wrote about the aftermath of traumatic experiences. Zoey’s fear was very real on the page – something I related to and could practically check off a list the number of issues so many of us who have had past sexual trauma deal with. It felt very real without making the pain she felt a fetish. At no point was Zoey’s past made into a kink or something to get off on. Instead all the sex is focused on consent, healing, and pleasure.

If someone wants to write a healing romance that includes a character recovering from past sexual abuse, I’d hold Watch Me up as the goal.

As for the billionaire love interest tropes – they were all on point. Fans of this subgenre of steamy romance will definitely enjoy this story – including a few twists I haven’t see in other work of the same flavor.

The only thing that left me cool was the timeline. It is acknowledged that Zoey and Rhys move fast, so it’s not expected for readers to ignore it. I think I would have enjoyed it more if the realism I experienced in the characters flowed into that part of the story as well. But this was a tiny matter that didn’t ruin it for me.

I am now a fan of the Phoenix series. The next book, Keep Me, focuses on my 2 favorite characters from Watch Me – Elise, a PI, and Archer, Phoenix’s security guy. I love hackers and PIs so they’re right up my alley plus the playful banter, enemies-to-lovers fun between them is sure to make for a fun follow up!
