3.7 AVERAGE

Adler-Olsen never disappoints. This was every bit as good from the first page to the last. The young boy trying to elude everyone manages to capture the imagination and the empathy of the reader. The undoing of the bad guys is a bit Hollywood, but it is satisfying. And Department Q continues to unfold. A new person has now become part of the team. Let's see how he copes in the basement of the police department with Rose and Assad.
medium-paced

Excellent! My favorite book in the series so far. I loved Assad and Rose's character development, and at times I found myself laughing aloud. I thought the mystery was just ok, but the characters were so memorable, it made up for it.

i cannot stress how much i enjoy this series of books. The three main characters are so amazing, diverse, and deep- it seems like you'll never get the whole picture.
in this story, Marco is a young boy who is raised by a community of "criminals". The children spend their days on the streets either begging or stealing while the adults have set up an account they are embezzling funds from.
Department Q stumbles upon a missing man story which somehow (through a complicated but interesting web) connects Marco (who is forced to escape the community and fend for himself), Carl and his gang, and this community of criminals.
A fantastic read. it amazes me how creative Adler-Olsen can be

enjoyable

lot's of action, liked the different kind of povs, was emotionally invested, overall it might be my favorite part of the series so far

Suspense to the last page. No spoilers.

I really wish this book had had more of the Department Q trio and had maybe dropped one of the subplots.

Not nearly as good as his previous ones but still looking forward to his next one.

This is definitely not my inspector Q series. But it's not bad enough to drive me off the serious. I will eagerly await for the next book.
