Després de molt de temps esperant a que sortís la traducció al castellà d'aquest llibre, sense èxit, vaig decidir que aquest fos el meu primer llibre sencer llegit en anglès, VO. Ja havia provat de fer-ho amb Outlander, però la prosa de la Gabaldon en anglès em va resultar molt difícil, amb aquelles descripcions llargues, afegit als bocins de gaèlic o de scott que hi havia per tot.
I, sorpresa, m'ha encantat poder llegir aquesta entrega dels Ravenel. Tant, que vaig a per les entregues anteriors per a fer la relectura també en anglès. M'ha semblat molt fàcil, fluid, no he hagut d'aturar gaire la lectura per a buscar al diccionari...
I de West, què puc dir... Ja esperava que m'agradaria, amb les miquetes que s'han anat mostrant d'ell en llibres anteriors. I no m'ha defraudat. Quin encant. Quin pillo redimit, amb aquest posat "pocavergonya" associat a la seva baixa autoestima, no considerant-se digne, marcat pel seu passat de calavera... I les escenes amb els nens, tan tendres...
Les escenes més compromeses, com sempre en la Kleypas, suggestives al màxim, amb tensió sexual explotant per tot arreu.
No passa res gaire important, però la lectura és tan agradable...

I adored this book. I will always love any story where the woman is the aggressive. Especially when it’s Historical romance. West, the male character, was interesting in the first book. Watching his growth, seeing that he cares so much about more than just himself, it was such a refreshing take.
BIG fan of West Ravenel. If I had read this the old fashioned way I would 100% have been bored; it’s the narration that brings these to life so richly.
