Not this stupid book saying that it was Henry's fault for being bullied. I honestly wished that the female lead didn't moved on this easily. She has children and her husband just died... but she is completely happy going out with another man?? The man that bullied her husband??? Fuck her brother btw. Just because the male lead never bullied Henry 'that' badly doesn't mean he got be redeemed that easily??
The tone change in this book is so annoying. One time they were talking about her husband that died and then the next second, they were talking about the 'sexy' male lead. It's so annoying.
every single story that includes the challons makes me so emotional god
anyways, i love a rake that was reformed before he got his own happy ending. west did a lot of growing up and it was nice to see how his enthusiasm to improve himself grew throughout the series. he’s also the connective tissue of all the ravenel books. maybe second sons DO have more fun.
phoebe! PHOEBE! i love her god i love her

I just really love Lisa Kleypas' writing. I laugh, I smile, I get emotional. I just adore it. And this was no exception to that. I enjoyed West and Phoebe's story.
This book was alright although I must say it is not very memorable because I am finding a very hard time recalling anything about this book except the fact that I did enjoy it

I have been eagerly anticipating this book as soon as we met West and oh my god, it didn’t disappoint. This one is one of my favourites in the series so far.
I found this book to be so refreshing - after the serious tone of the last book, this one was so funny and definitely lifted my spirits. West is such an entertaining, charismatic person and the many features of Sebastian make this book all the more entertaining. As for Phoebe, I adored her and her little family - I am a bit iffy with children in romance books, but I found Justin and Stephen to be so adorable, and I loved the way all four of them interacted with each other.
I like that this book didn’t have a conventional third-act conflict - there was no intense argument, rather it was two people (specifically West) holding back throughout the book. It added a level of angst that I really appreciated.
This series overall is definitely one of my favourite historical romances, and this instalment just furthers that. This’ll definitely be one I’ll go back and reread.

Fun as always, not my favorite of her books - but enjoyable nonetheless.
