The best part of this book was the story of Mindy and Will, which read as a cheesy romance novel that I would totally be into. I didn’t really like the imaginary email exchange at first, but found myself into by the end. This was way better than her first book, but felt like a random collection of stories from her like that having much cohesiveness, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing. She should write cheesy romance novels, which I guess is what she does for TV.

I am happy to have read this book by Mindy Kaling. It was nice to have as a book that I could read throughout the month in a lazy way as each chapter was it’s own topic. I think it’s a great book for Mindy Kaling fans and/or those for looking for something lighter.

A delightful read that didn't make me stop laughing while making me think about our society and our view of ourselves. I found it short but appreciated that it was meant to be direct, enlightening, simple to digest and fun, perfect for a quick read.

Copy and pasted from my Goodreads review.

Did this book need about 10 minutes of Mindy Kaling reading her e-mails?

TW: Mindy cries about how badly people treat and talk about her for being big and then immediately proceeds to call fat people "porkers".
This isn't a tw but Mindy has an obsession with having children and she mentions being pregnant or raising kids about 50 times in this one book.
