It was tough putting this down and having to do things like work. Bah!
Such a lot of fun. And it ends on a cliffhanger, giving me a good excuse to get the next one in the series.

I loved the author's depiction of this deeply flawed character. He's a selfish, self-centred and self-destructive arsehole most of the time. But real people are just that sometimes. So many male protagonists in romances are too good to be true, or have a history of bad behaviour, mainly womanising, but are now 'good' or are 'made good' by meeting the one woman who can change them.
Declan's problem is that he already met her, and threw the relationship away to follow his dream career at eighteen years old. And that hurts. Both of them. To protect himself from the pain, Declan does something quite believable, he throw himself into his new celebrity lifestyle, but no amount of drink, drugs and womanising can stop her haunting his dreams. When he sees her again, he loses his focus, almost loses his career, and to be honest, starts to lose his somewhat tenuous hold on his sanity.
Told from Declan's POV exclusively, he angrily 'f-bombs' his way through situations, acting tough, trying to understand and change, whilst slowly destroying himself and people that care about him.
