This book ran a bulldozer over my heart. The love and acceptance and understanding between Henry and Alice is amazing. 😭 My god tier tropes - enemies to lovers, forced proximity, snowed in, one bed, forbidden romance (not usually a fan but I ate this up) and best of all, virgin hero?!? RIP me.

Didn't expect to like something about a holier-than-thou preacher evangelist but I was all in here. The super slow burn was tough and spice wasn't the spiciest but the emotional longing between them did me in. Idk guys. 5⭐️

This isn't a dark romance but it is a broody one. I haven't read the others in this series but think that I want to. I like Alice's agency and that she's willing to let go what doesn't fit with her idea of her ideal life.

5 stars!

I was nervous at the beginning because I have a lot of religious baggage and I thought the evangelical minister MMC would bother me too much or it would be a mockery, but this was not the case AT ALL. The growth of both the MMC and FMC was so beautiful and the way that they both learn to understand and respect and love each other was just SO well done. This series has become one of my favorites and this book is my favorite of the series.

I think Scarlett Peckham is probably the only author who could make this scenario work. Lol
