"Sometimes I honestly think my mental processes are sicker than my body processes - that is really scary!"

Nancy was raped by 'Collin', an 18-year-old college student, when she was only 14 years old. He left her with HIV and she has to bear all the consequences. It was so sad to read what Nancy has been through. No one deserves this. She writes in her diary about the trauma of being raped and the consequences of being infected with the deadly virus. She struggles for example with having to wear diapers and she also wonders where she should leave her tampons.

"I still resent the kids a little because they are well and I'm not."

I do not believe that this actually written by a 14-year-old girl, but the point of the book remains the same. This book teaches you about HIV/AIDS and it makes you grateful for what you have and you will appreciate your family and friends more. One key lesson from this book: always use latex condoms with a spermicide containing nonoxynol-9 when you have sex with someone with an unknow HIV status.
