Rereading this really makes me mad about how its represented. This is such a dark story about a young girl being abused and manipulated again and again. It really doesn't deserve the hate that it get.

This was one of the best final books of a series I have ever read, hands down, it's one of the few that make it clear that this story that the trilogy covered has reached it's ending and there's no more to write or read. I could barely put this book down and reading about the people died and how they died made me cry and grieve with katniss, I do feel like this book series gets too much flack from people who haven't taken the time to read it bc it has some raw moments that are quite tough to read, I'll definitely be purchasing each of the three books to keep on my shelf as I had read each of the books from the library and try to only have physical copies of books I know I'll re-read more than once as I think having books I won't read to be wasteful in terms of space and the book's potential to make another reader happy in a sense, but this series has made a lasting impression on me and I now understand why the hunger games took the world by storm. Suzanne Collins went Off writing this series and doesn't shy away from the fact that Katniss is still a child during the actual action, I have read all three books in less than a week and was really impressed with how well the words came through in my mental voice, especially during some Katniss' panic attacks, the way the words would flood my mind going faster and faster until it got to a tipping point where it'll all stop, but you could feel her pain and grief so strongly, it was like hearing it second hand from your friend who has seen some shit. Reading this series with fresh eyes was absolutely an amazing experience and I'm almost sad that I'm not going to get that again unless I go a few years without thinking about it, which I'm most likely not going to let happen.
