This book was very interesting to read,
You follow Claire after an incident in the Uk, she goes to New York on a student Visa to get away from her past life and to pursue her acting career. After struggling to find any jobs without a green card Claire is hired by a Law firm specialising in divorces, where when she is wanted, she is to go undercover to get men to confess to cheating on their partners.
One of Claire's subjects soon becomes a murder suspect after his wife is found dead of suspicious causes, The police want Claire to use her acting skills to help lure the husband into a confession, but Claire thinks he is innocent, if he's innocent then who really killed the wife?

This book took me surprise in this one,
While reading the first third of this book, I had this feeling where I thought I knew what was going to happen, thinking to myself 'This person is the most obvious suspect'.
Then this book did a 180 during the second third of this book, which left me questioning where the storyline was going, some scenes were weird, I was even starting to question Claire because she started acting weird.
Then out of no where it flipped again and suddenly everything made sense and went back to how I originally thought how the storyline was going to go.

Even though I kind of knew who the killer was from the beginning, I enjoyed how the author went about telling the story, and I liked how it made me question the sanity of some characters, It was defiantly a nice little twist.
I don't think many people would enjoy the little twist the book had, but I loved it.

I'm still recovering from motion sickness after the freeking twists and turns of this novel. Just when I started to get annoyed because I had it figured out, it veered in a different direction. If you like the twisty thrillers that have been so plentiful as of late, this is your book.

I received a copy of this book via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. This book centres around Claire. She is a struggling actress who has come to New York from England under a cloud having had an affair with her famous co-star. Unable to get herself a green card she gets a job with an agency entrapping married men. When her client is found dead she is hired to try and get a confession out of the husband.

I genuinely do not know how I feel about this book. It really messes with your head. As the title suggests there is so many lies that it is really hard to know who is telling the truth. Because of this some parts of the book are confusing. I was constantly loving it one minute and hating it the next. I much preferred The Girl Before.

This was one I could not put down. In retrospect the plot was unbelievable but I still loved this book. The writing style was creative and there were so many plot twists you were constantly left guessing.

I loved The Girl Before, J.P Delaney's previous book and couldn't wait to get my hands on this one. This book was a great read too just when you think you have it all worked out another plot twist is thrown at you, leaving you wondering again who did kill Stella? 🤔 I spent the whole time I was reading it trying to get to the bottom of Claire and what makes her tick. Is she mentally unsound or a very good actress?! This book kept me feverishly turning pages until the end. I eagerly await a third book from this author (already pre-ordered to my Kindle!). #jpdelaney #believe me #tea_sipping_bookworm #goodreads #plottwist

Thank you to the publishers and NetGalley for the ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

I was really thrilled to see that this author had a new book out. I really enjoy his previous book - The girl before.

This book was simply amazing. Nowadays, too many books advertise twists but one sees the twists coming way ahead of time. This book was really exciting and it was truly a rollercoaster ride and one did not know where it would go next.

I highly recommend this one for anyone who is looking for a great psychological thriller!

Oh. My. Word. This book is a wild ride. I listened to the audio book, which has high production, cut scenes, and multiple fantastic narrators. I can't imagine it would be nearly as powerful in print. The best thing about it? I had no idea what was going on the entire time, and I loved every second of it! Just when I thought I had a grasp of what was going on, I'd learn something new that knocked me off course. It's hard to find a mystery/thriller that catches me off guard these days, and this one did an unbelievable job!

While the writing isn't exactly literary, it's compelling and easy to follow. The characters aren't very developed, but again, the audio book brings them to life in a different way.
