Were all chapter books this meaningful? I knew it was for children yet why did it impact me so hard? The main character was much more mature and insightful than I expected. I now need to read more chapter books.

I really enjoyed this story about Aref, a young boy about to leave his home in Oman and travel to Michigan in the United States. He doesn’t want to go. But over the week, his mother and especially his grandfather, help Aref to see the journey as an exciting adventure. Great for anyone about to make a big change.

This is a lovely story about a boy who loves his home and is struggling to say goodbye. I love the relationship between Aref and his grandfather and the adventures they have together during the last few days before the big move.
