Sackett's Land

Louis L'Amour

Fun page-turner - 'prequel' to the westerns...

This is the first in the Sackett series and it was the first Louis L'Amour I read. Sackett is on the run in Elizabethan London and flees to America to make a new start. The Sackett series continues on with his posterity spreading throughout the country. Although I did enjoy this, it kept me from reading more L'Amour novels for quite some time. I read mostly Zane Grey and Ernest Haycox before I started really reading L'Amour in earnest.

Minimalistic writing with a lot going on. I love how this is a huge saga waiting for me.
