See review for book 1 because I have basically the same complaints. Only on a larger or annoyed scale. Also I don’t really like being manipulated and that’s pretty much this entire book. I keep reading more out of boredom than anything.
So. Okay. I’m going to give this series one more try but if book 3 is doesn’t improve I am dooooone.

The Newcomer picks up from where The Wanderer ends...Mac and Gina have finally admitted their feeling to one another and have become a couple. Their teenage daughters are best friends and are both going through growing pains. Mac's ex has returned to town making Gina insecure, his aunt Lou angry and scared and his daughter, Eve hurt. Gina's daughter, Ashley is dumped by her college freshman boyfriend and his new girlfriend sent a fake naked pic to all those in his cell phone. This causes Ashley to get very depressed and Gina does not know how to deal with it all.
I liked that this novel continues right after The Wanderer and like her other series, Virgin River the same characters are in this book. The main romance in this book is Gina and Mac but as they are single parents their children are prominent in this novel. The novel deals with cyber bullying and depression which we do not see a lot in adult books. I think it was a great storyline that hopefully raises awareness. Carr handled the situation quite well. This novel might not be everyone's cup of tea as it has more of the teens and their problem in this book. I enjoyed it and solidly recommend this novel and series.

This was a great second book in the series. Mac and Jeana make a good couple. It is also great to follow the stories of the other characters in the town. It is ashame that there are very few communities like thunderpoint around now in real life. Was great to revisit this book again and a lovely read to help me with getting through my work day.
Love this book. Great story so far. Looking forward to reading the rest of the series.
5 The Newcomer Stars
YES! I loved this book; I was invested in Mac and Gina from book 1 and was elated to get more of their story in this book.
Phew this book has some heavy issues, and it’s hard to listen to from someone how kind of went through depression at a young age. So I connected a lot with Ashely in this book. But what I loved the most was how her mom stood by her, noticed something was wrong and fought tooth and nail to see her through.
These books Robyn writes are for entertainment sure but they also deal with real issues we face or have faced and it is nice to connect to a character like that.
I can’t wait to see what is to come in the books to follow, I can tell you I ready to start the next book.
Again I am going to gush about Therese Plummer this narrator is FANTASTIC, she brings these characters to life. You can hear the emotion in her voice, it’s what make her such a great story teller.
*You don't have to like my review but its 100% my opinion, and I am allowed to have it.*

First off, I hated Downy. He seemed like such a great guy in the previous novel, with friending Landon when he was being harassed by the football team. Not in this book. Complete and total ass. The more I kept reading about him, the more I wish bad things to happen to him.
I felt so bad for Ashley. How could Downy have claimed to love her and be a party to things his new girlfriend was doing to her?
Cee Jay was a bit odd. She seemed to be able to changes emotions at the drop of a dime. That made me not trust her or her intentions. By the end, I was still left feeling unsure of her and what her plans might be.
Mac and Gina's relationship was pretty uneventful. Sure Mac's ex showed up but it didn't throw a wrench into their relationship like I thought it would. Gina and Mac's biggest issues were blending their families.
Cooper and Sarah also played a large part in this installment, and had some curves come their way. With Sarah, I didn't understand her need to withhold certain information from Cooper. I felt they had a better relationship than that, and she should have felt fine with discussing matters with him sooner. And the curve Cooper was thrown, well he handled it like a champ. He was a real class act. Carr managed to make me love him all the more.
There's only been two books of this series thus far and I've loved both. The characters are so well written that you become invested in their lives and the town. It never fails that when I pick up a Robyn Carr novel, it's like I'm visiting with friends.

I keep thinking she is going to write a bad book and I will not fall in love with it!!!! But she keeps impressing me!!!! This book was great!!! Love all the connections that were made in thunder point!!! ❤️
Once upon a time, several books ago, in a little town named Virgin River, a handsome helicopter pilot named Hank Cooper, aka Cooper, aka Coop, came to town to visit some of the good folks of Virgin River - just long enough to tell us his backstory (a handsome wild man who has never settled down) and relationship to the Virgin River characters (Army buddies of course), and then he got a phone call that his best friend had died and he had to leave town to take care of things, and he never came back. “That was poorly done,” I thought when I finished the series. “Whatever happened to that Cooper guy?” Well. Goddammit. He moved up to a little beach town in Oregon called Thunder Point, where he inherited his best friend’s beach bar and befriended the local deputy sheriff who is a divorced but very handsome dad raising three kids and Deputy Dad is secretly in love with the single mother who lives next door and is his best friend and the mother of his daughter’s best friend. And Single Mom works at the diner where one of the regulars is a beautiful female Coast Guard helicopter pilot who is sad but beautiful and has vowed never to get close to a man again (did I mention she’s beautiful?!)...and now I’ve finished the first two books in this goddamn Thunder Point series. I’m never going to get to the pile of Canada Reads books on my nightstand, am I?!
Excellent. Emotional. Complete. One of the best since the beginnings of the Virgin River series.
