The movies definitely didn't do justice to this book. It's so well written, it's crazy. I was crying at the end; Sirius was one of my favorite characters.... And I've seen the movies, so I knew he was going to die, but I was still sobbing. Such an accurate portrayal of grief, the wondering if you could have done anything different to save them
Order of the Phoenix is my favorite so far! It was an exciting read, and I loved how much more I learned about the wizard world. Rowling handles feelings of isolation, grief, disappointment, and regret particularly well here. While I’m sure lots of other people have said this before, it’s worth stating that the book is significantly better than the movie. I think that’s been true about all the books so far, but especially so with Order of the Phoenix.
Although at times the plot seemed less focused than the previous ones, I actually enjoyed this more, since it seemed like more space was given to the emotions and inner lives of the main trio, and just meandering life at Hogwarts in general, which are some of my favorite parts of this series.
