Okay so... I really really enjoyed this!
At first it felt too much like Avatar, I mean.... Sky cities, people who can control a material, animal guides... Kurara and Haru? Seriously!
But once you manage to put that aside and just think of it as it's own thing, it actually turns into a really interesting, fun, sad and twisty little book.
There's quite a lot of 'ohhhh' type of moments, some 'what the heck' moments, and one big 'BLOODY SCREW YOU HOW DARE YOU! YOU ABSOLUTE F%&@ER!'
And despite how long it took me to read, it's actually quite a short and un-convoluted book in comparison to a lot of fantasy I've read, which is quite a nice change.
And *googles*... yes, there's a sequel! *looks a bit more*... a THREEQUEL yes please!
Overall, definitely worth a read.

As everyone says definitely gives the feel of a Ghibli. Quite fun but a little short on characterisation and plot.

I loved the imagery and I could easily see this story adapted into anime/ Studio Ghibli style movie. There were some plot twists and character development that made me mad, but I get why it happened. Enjoyed the read over all.
