Thank you to NetGalley, Elle Kennedy, and St. Martin’s Press for providing me this ARC so that I can write this honest review!
I did not read the 1st book (Good Girl Complex) but I really enjoyed this book! This can be read as a stand-alone book.
Plot: 4/5
Characters: 4/5
Writing: 4/5
This book demonstrates how imperfect life can be. The characters are messy, their relationships are strained, and they have some family issues. However, the character growth and maturation was very natural and refreshing. Both main characters had room to grow through this book without it feeling rushed.
The book explores changing your life for yourself and not because of other people opinion or pressure. It also briefly touches on grief and family loss (either by death or abandonment).
The romance itself was good and everything tied up in a nice bow.
I think it is worth reading especially for the growth and character development even if you are not too into rom-coms.

Really enjoyed book 2 of the Avalon Bay series!
I think I preferred Good Girl Complex, but still really enjoyed this one!
I've knocked it down because of the unnecessary and rushed 3rd act breakup attempt in the last 30 pages of the book! Had that not have happened, it would have been 5 stars. To me, she could have still come to the same realisation after Randall's outburst...I don't know why it was needed from Evan or Gen's POV.
I enjoyed the majority of the book though and all the characters including Riley and Harrison! God I hated Randall as a character but that's the sign of good writing 😁
Book 3 time next! 😁

I liked it. Good character progression. Good ending. Good romance.
While Elle Kennedy can always be relied upon to serve a classic romance novel, Bad Girl Reputation was an exciting new twist for fans of her previous works. Following a complicated couple through difficult life transitions, Kennedy was able to not only have me rooting for Gen and Evan to end up together, but also hoping that they would end up finding the best versions of themselves along the way. Kennedy did not disappoint with this one, and I cannot wait to see what else she has in store for the Avalon Bay series in the future.
