This was very charming! I significantly preferred this one to the first one in the series. Gen was easy to root for and I'm always a sucker for a story about a group of friends set at the beach.

From the minute I heard about Evan & Gen's relationship in the first book, Good Girl Complex, I knew I had to read this one!! I felt as though I connected better with Mac from GGC, but I found pieces of myself where I could relate to Gen. I loved the growth and developement that Evan and Gn both had apart and together in this book. I feel as though the time that they had apart truly benefitted the both of them and showed each other that no matter what had happened in the past or would happen in the future; as long as they leaned on each other and COMMUNICATE then everything will be more than ok! Gen and Evan always were meant to be and they finally were able to work everything out (thank goodness because I yelled at them a few times throughout this book haha)

Jumping into this story, I immediately had an intense soft-spot for Genevieve. This was a messy story of a magnetic push-pull relationship and felt so nostalgic to me for some reason. I really just felt like I needed more from this book overall and I can't put my finger on what threw me off... I do, however, now understand and appreciate the lack of an epilogue in [b:Good Girl Complex|57693481|Good Girl Complex (Avalon Bay, #1)|Elle Kennedy|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1635841180l/57693481._SY75_.jpg|90371670]. I enjoyed catching up with Mac & Cooper.
