There are the seeds of interesting ideas here but I simply couldn’t deal with the prose long enough to appreciate them. The author is in desperate need of a better editor and proof readers, to avoid repetitive and clunky sentences (“[he] smiled, a thin lipped smile with white lips” for example), physical inaccuracies (cutting a head nearly off with a rapier), or out of place moments like a character name-dropping the books title.
