A book of wonderful genius. Some books should be thrown at people. This is one of those books.

Neil Gaiman wrote an introduction to this edition, calling it the perfect book with exactly the right words in exactly the correct amounts. I can see this book all through Graveyard Book and Sandman. And with the major caveat that the princess has almost no role, it is a perfect story, for me because of the words and rhythm.
