It was good but I feel like it could have been written in less pages to make it more fast paced.

This book was SO LONG. I kept looking at my kindle progress, barely moving each time I had read 100 pages. This book probably did not need that many pages, but I enjoyed it more than I expected. Of course in classic ZA fashion, we end on a bad note. These girls can’t catch a break.

yeah the tandem read suggestions were horrible. gave up on that and this became a much more enjoyable adventure.

I dont understand all of the random pov here? it was entertaining sometimes. but really did it add anything? I dont want to look into the mind of every side character, man.

I think this was supposed to finalize the heirs' "redemption" as Good Guys now, and i guess it worked bc theyre completely different than they were at the start of the series. I kind of miss how brutal they were. like theyre all soft and fluffy and friendly now, but theyre in the middle of a war!! now IS the time to go brutal and batshit and destroy everything!!!

lowkey my least favorite thing about this book was the lack of twin interaction. their sisterhood is supposed to be the core of their beings and purpose but it was dropped like a soggy waffle as soon as their boy toys were in trouble? sure sure it was important to save orion and darius but did it have to happen by practically minimizing scenes between darcy and tory?? :(

I wish I wish I wish there will be more focus just on darcy and tory in the finale. bring us back to the essentials, the core, the MAIN CHARACTERS for heaven's sake. I like reading their pov, I like seeing their brain, I like watching what they do. not mildred or geraldine or Milton pleaseee.

ANOTHER THING I want to see more of the politics in solaria okay. over the massive time jumps in the last few books (especially compared to the initial snail pace) its like any relevant magical/political knowledge was just infused into darcy and tory, which is nice bc now they actually know stuff, but it kind of leaves readers in the dust about all of it. there are all these intense spells and stuff that they just know how to do now and it kind of left me going ?¿ it doesn't really feel like we're watching them learn and grow anymore, but that theyre already fully formed and we're just following behind if that makes sense

however. shadow dog was cute. I wish we got more of the ruthless boys interacting with each other. the no spoiler mentions are nice for anyone who hasn't read it, but if you have read it, it just leaves you hanging with all these vague mentions of "family" that you never get to see!! i want to see the family, I especially want to see darcy and tory with the family and for the family to keep growing. even just a scrap of happy fun moment with all of the characters would satisfy me, dont even have to name names. wouldn't even have to be the ruthless boys family. Just more lighthearted heirs + twins + geraldine fun to balance out the war and death?

praise the lord that Seth and Caleb figured themselves out that was exhausting to read. if anyone has more relationship problems in the last book though I might throw something

the dark magic and ether was cool, really playing into the dark/light yin/yang darcy/tory situation. please dont make it a thing that pushes them apart in the last book though i want to see them rule together as powerful warrior queens. the last 7 books had enough sister fights. good riddance.
