This is becoming quite the game for me, guess the culprit. Finally I managed to get my first one right, well before the climax of the book but it was touch and go for awhile. New discoveries kept popping up and as ever I was highly entertained. Another fine mystery.

This was another fun Marple mystery, where she actually played a more active role!! Nice!!
It was almost five stars, but there were things that I loved about the end and there were things that were a bit bland that took away from the reveal of whodunnit, so four stars it is, but oh what a delicious twist it was.
I loved loved loved the reveal that it was Merina herself and the devastating reveal of why and how, the whole German measal thing, wow. And I loved the end where it is strong implied that the husband in his turn has killed his wife, as a kindness and to stop her hurting more people. I didn't like muddying the water with the two blackmailers, it was a little confusing. I think one would have been enough.

Definitely a good mystery that kept me guessing as I read it!

i liked this one!
i figured out the killer/motive when they mentioned german measles (i didn't know what it was but i made the baby connection lol) which was pretty late but at least i got it this time haha. also, i listened to this on audiobook and while i like the narrator (emilia fox), her american accent was soooooo bad lol
