4.5/5

The only reason this book is getting a 4.5 is because I wanted more about the magic in the world and how Raven got hers. The story itself was great and kept me captivated from the beginning. This book has tension,

This first installment is 5

Raven became the Queen of Seolia at a young age with no explanation why. She was an orphan and the king named her as his successor. For 15 years she's never understood why and has had work relentlessly to prove she should be queen. While also keeping a secret. She has dark magic, she processes 3 elements.
But then a stranger comes into her life and flips her whole world upside down.
With any fantasy novel, you go into it expecting a lot of world building. And sometimes that can make it harder to get into. However, the world building was flawless and flowed easily into the story.
You also get to read both sides since it's dual pov which I LOVE
The storyline is very unique, and keeps you on your toes. You never know who is good and who is bad. I'm definitely excited to see what happens in the next book!
Spice level- 2

This book was so well written , I absolutely loved it! If you are looking for betrayal , love , secrets, and lost family . This book is a must read. Raven who’s lived a solitary life as queen until Zeke came from reales and made her fall hard for him. Her juggling her emotions and her powers dealing with Zeke but not only him but a man name Cade whose been with her since she before she was queen . I can’t wait to see what happens next with raven and Zeke. For the rest of you , you really need to read this book.

This is definitely an adult dark fantasy romance with a lot of spice! If your a fan of instant love, friends to lovers, love triangles and morally grey characters than you’ll enjoy A Kingdom of Flame and Fury. I really liked the elemental magic that Raven possessed and the world the author created. Raven comes across as being strong and confident but as the story progresses you discover she has a lot of self doubt and anxiety about being loved and accepted. Personally, I am not a fan of instant love but it works well with the story line in this book. Her love interests Zeke and Cade, one her soulmate and the other her close confidant both lied and manipulated Raven for different reasons. I found myself rooting for Raven to find her inner strength and stand on her own. Once you get past the insta love and spicy scenes the beginnings of a solid fantasy story unfolds and lays the groundwork for the next book in the series.

Thank you to katieandbreypa for the eArc in exchange for my honest review.
