Brandon Sanderson comes up with some of the best, most detailed magic systems I've read. The narrator for the audiobook was great. The book is loong. I stopped about halfway through (I got the audiobook from the library and it was due) and then picked it up again a few months later. With a 25 hour audiobook it can be hard to keep up the momentum. But the second half especially flew by.

My only real complaint is that while the female characters the story centers around feel very fully realized I felt annoyed that at the end of the day it's the male characters who do the saving of the day and the female characters are either saved or are more supporting roles. That just annoyed me, even if overall I thought Sanderson did well by his female leads.
