3.4⭐️ honestly unreal. i can’t consider this book good but it’s also not horrible.

Holy fuzzballs this was epic

What a way to start off a mew series!

I didn’t think I wanted to read a book or a series about a pandemic while in the middle of one but holy S H * T that was F*{%ing phenomenal! The heat and steam levels weren’t too bad either. Can’t wait to read the rest of the series!

I honestly do not know what took me so long to read this book other than I wanted the completed series as I hate waiting. Overall This book was amazing! The characters as a whole make you either love them, hate them, or in the night keepers case a little of both. I stand that Tate is my favorite and I officially love the girl. The reason for the four stars is only because of the references and word usage. This was suppose to take place in the US I gathered and several statements came from the UK. Luckily I knew most of them but it was still a set back when I hit one that made me think a little harder causing me to come out of the story. Again over all it was fantastic!

UPDATE … I will eat my words. Keep reading the series! It’s worth it!!

While I’m down for a bully romance I had a hard time with this. The bullying is less that and more complete destruction of another human being. I see where this is going and while the attempt at redemption for these guys is a valiant effort, I don’t buy into any self respecting woman/man/person forgiving these pieces of garbage. Maybe I will change my tune with the next books but I honestly can’t think of anything that would make me root for these people. Having said that … it’s very well written, interesting and exciting. It would be better without the “threat” of a relationships budding. I know, I can’t believe I’m saying that either.

Don’t like teenage books…. Dnf

The good - the audio narration is on POINT, the pandemic plot is woven in well to everything else going on.

The concerns - as a fan of bully romance, namely HAVOC, I’m all about rude boys. But, there’s a line. There’s something redeeming or even understandable about their behavior and there’s an identifiable shift from hatred to love with respect to the FMC. Trauma, danger, whatever it is - something brings them close. I assume the next book develops the male characters more, but it bothers me that 16 HOURS into a series I can’t see one single redeeming quality or even an inkling of a turning point aside from the obvious plot. So many scenes just made me uncomfortable, while some did make me happy to see for the structure of the book.

I’ll try book 2, but I’ve got my doubts.

As with so many books by these authors, this series will dominate my life for a few days and I will be totally absorbed by it.

It would have been really fun to read at the height of covid as it really captures those early days of panic and hoarding. It is very dark and the night keepers are nasty. I was put off by the whole high school romance thing, because it's not really my thing. So mostly I have just been pretending they are a bit older!

It is a fun book though. And certainly gripping. I will continue reading the series.

DNF - I read half of this book, but I wasn’t staying engaged with the story.

Pretty good start to a new series
