If you are a Zodiac Academy fan, this is a similar vibe without the magic aspect. The bully romance aspect really focused on the bully-ness in this book and it was a bit much for me. Now four years post beginning of the pandemic, I can laugh at aspects of this book but damn 2020 was a wild time. Will I continue with the series? Probably.

Kings of Quarantine

WOW WOW WOW.

I did not think I was going to like this book, given the world situation, but WOW. I'm hooked!!!! This book is more about world-building and getting to know our main characters.

Let's start with Tatum:
Tatum is this strong young woman who is put through hell after news of her father breaks out on campus. As the new girl, all she wanted was to fit in, but she found herself on the wrong side of the Night Keepers. These brutal boys are relentless and she finds an unsuspecting friend in her teacher.

Mr. Monroe has his own beef with the Night Keepers, and he wants to bring them down. For some reason he feels incredibly drawn to the new girl and enjoys the way she pushes back.

Saint is probably my least favourite character just because he's so OTT. He's ruthless, heartless, and has no remorse. He's insanely brutal.

Blake is a charming kid who lost his mom and is going through incredible amounts of grief. He is the party hardy kid - until he gets news that changes how he feels about Tatum. It's now his life goal to destroy her.

Kyan is my favourite. He's got a sense of humour hidden behind his bad boy self and all he wants is to feel love. He enjoys fighting as a past time and once he gets wind that Tatum is trained in martial arts, his attraction to her gets stronger.

By the end of this book they are bound together through events that I will not spoil, and I cannot wait to get into book #2.

I really liked this book surprisingly. It was really dark which is what I want in a bully romance. Usually I hate teacher student relationships but this book does a good job. There is also an interesting back story...that we dont know a ton about but it's there.
What I dont like...
The fmc is a mary sue. It's so so annoying. She is great at essentially everything apparently.
Saint and Blake. At this point I dont see at redeeming qualities to them. It would be super weird if she gets with them. So I'm not sure exactly how that's gonna be handled.
The writing....the tenses get mixed a bit in the beginning and reading along I'll miss words here and there.
The ending... so much happens so fast. We just plod along at a nice pace and the last 8% of the book is just a race to the finish line. It felt off compared to the rest of the book.
I'm still giving this 5 stars because despite my dislikes..this is a great piece of bully rh

? Reverse haram that tries to be like Zodiac Academy in a plague ridden world but misses the mark. Protagonist is 17 years old and one of the love interests is a teacher 6 years older than her. The hazing is just abuse and torment. Much about this could have been improved upon.

I found out about this book from TikTok and OMG this exceeded my expectations.

This follows pretty standard and sometimes overdone tropes though I absolutely loved the way the author constructed this story. The characters were very unique in the fact that you could tell they each had their own personalities. The storyline revolved around a pandemic as well which was similar to the situation some of us are facing right now.

This one didn't have as much spice as I thought it would but it was still exactly what I thought it was going to be. I do recommend if you like enemies to lovers and bully romance.
