“Self help books sort of talk in monotone, all flat and robotic,” I read in a review of a totally unrelated book, and I realised that that is exactly my problem with this book. It feels like reading course material for some class you are taking. Useful, interesting, with bits and pieces you will hopefully be able to apply (or at least remember afterwards) but it’s not exactly fun or engaging to read. It even has a test at the end ;-)

Guess I would have probably preferred reading the summary.

Useful for getting your head around boundaries. A bit repetitive at times, and would have liked more practical examples, but overall not a bad place to start if you're getting used to the idea of having boundaries.

This book was a good read for those who need guidance with boundaries. At times it felt like many of the suggestions were not realistic and could cause relationships to end negativity rather solving issues. Certain examples also were harsh or exceptionally hard to take seriously.

Listen to the audiobook.
informative reflective

I liked the structure a lot - topic information, examples of what setting boundaries and boundary violations can sound like, and some question/prompts for reflection. Reading through it, I feel like my boundaries are pretty good!

Boy, did I need this book. Boundaries are so important in life, but it can be easy for people like me to forget to set them in various relationships. I'm glad I listened to this audiobook to get this message through to me.
