The first Riley Bloom book was enjoyably sweet, this however, felt like something I would have read in grade school and been frustrated both by the (limited) plot, and the short length. For a girl who obsesses over growing up, Riley is taking too many book to do it. I am curious about her sister's darker series though.

Read because I was given it for free.

It's good not great. But then I'm an adult reader and these are meant for younger teens I think. They are short quick reads and I picked it up cheap after reading the first two books. The stories are good and a bit different, for me what makes me subtract a star is the heroine, Riley Bloom who after 3 books is just as annoying and self obsessed and has not grown at all, which is ironic as this is the main focus of the story, it's just that I wish the author would get over that and focus a bit more on the stories she comes up with, which are pretty fun!

It was OK. For some reason like Hush Hush (despite them being totally different) I sped through the first third/half before stalling then finishing again fairly quickly. Riley's way of talking annoys me at times for Christ's sake stop with the 'for reals' stuff. No-one I know or ever knew when I was younger have ever said that... But who knows maybe as a 22 year old British girl I'm not up on the language of 12 year old American girls. The ending was a bit abrupt as well.

Very rarely do I enjoy books in a series more than the first one, but Dreamland, the third book in the Riley Bloom series is the best by far. Perhaps my greater enjoyment of this book was a result of listening to the superb audiobook narrator, or maybe it was just because Riley's growth as a character and her humility is beginning to make her more likeable. I'm looking forward to reading the 4th book in the series.

I feel bad for Riley Bloom. She died when she was twelve, and all she ever wanted was to be a teenager like her big sister, Ever. She feels awkward and uncomfortable in her skin. She finally crossed over to Here & Now, but she fears she will be twelve forever. She's been training as a Soul Catcher, and other than having a difficult time following the rules, she's been doing quite well. She, and her trainer, Bohdi, have been told they can have a vacation. Feeling lost, because she has no friends, and feels as though everyone else has something better to do, she decides to go find Dreamland. She meets Balthazar, and he teaches her how to dream jump. Just as she gets the hang of it, Dreamland is closed for the day. Determined to get into her sister Ever's dream, she sneaks back in. It becomes a dark place, where little light penetrates. She meets a boy who is a Dream Weaver. Someone who can send dreams, not just jump into them. And then everything goes more awry than it already was. She's tough, though

6.5/10, didn't feel like a compelling enough fantasy story.
