Finally read this book. Somehow i never read it in my childhood, i‘ve only seen the tim burton my and read „Heartless“ (which i DNF‘ed) and those have been pretty lame to me.
I like this book, especially how the wonderland is confronting the reader (and Alice) with their view of the world and brings in the naïveté of a childs worldview. Also the symbols of growing up (quite literally with Alice changing size/ height multiple times) were interesting.

I’m glad i finally read the original. Something for me is missing though for it to get 5 stars. I just wasn’t fully engaged in the story.

It was a cute story. I haven't seen the movie yet so I don't know how it compares. But it was written in the silly style of Lewis Carol. I'd recommend this to extreme Alice fans (like me) and children.

It's just really not that interesting. The various adaptations, pop culture surrounding, everything except the story itself are kind of cool but the book is just plain boring. I get it's a children's book and I am an adult but still.

Also "and then she woke up and it was all a dream" is never acceptable. Ever. Loses half a star just for that.

I read the edition illustrated by Tove Jansson. Love her!

The story itself was a little repetitive. Also, why does everyone hate Bill the Lizard?
