I ended up with a DNF on this one, I just couldn't get through it. I liked the first book, but from there is just seemed to drag on and on.
Orson's understanding of the human psych will never cease to amaze me.

An awesome bridge between the character driven Ender's Game and the philosophically based Speaker for the Dead. Card does a great job of remembering what was good about the Ender series and including it in the latest novel, which fills the largest gap in Ender's story. The last few chapters felt a bit disjointed from the rest of the plot, but it fit smoothly with Ender's character development. This book produced a definite feeling of connection at the end.
This needed to be written. It fills in the Ending of Ender's Game and sets up Speaker for the Dead in a much more thorough and comprehensive way than the last few chapters of the original novel could. It also wraps up the lose ends from the Shadow series, which definitely needed to be done.
It's a little awkward to know when to read Ender in Exile if you're embarking on the series for the first time. I would probably recommend reading Ender's Game, the shadow series, Ender in Exile, First Meetings, and then Speaker for the Dead, Xenocide, and Children of the Mind.

Antes que nada, quisiera aclararles un par de cuestiones: no puede decirse que Ender en el exilio es la segunda parte de la saga de Ender porque, en realidad, la historia que nos contará Orson se ubica temporalmente entre el capítulo catorce y el quince de la anterior novela, El juego de Ender. Segundo, si bien puede catalogarse como un spin off, no se hace porque ya existe uno catalogado como tal: la novela breve Guerra de los regalos, en donde Zeck y Ender tendrán un pequeño problema en la Escuela de Batalla. Así que en realidad, podríamos catalogar a Ender en el exilio como un tercer libro de la saga, o un segundo spin off, ya que no avanza en el hilo argumental, sino que explora cabos sueltos del primer libro. ¿Mucha información toda junta? Sí, suelo extenderme demasiado, jajaja.
En Ender en el exilio, retrocedemos a la decisión de si las fuerzas políticas dejan o no volver a Ender a la Tierra. Tendremos unas emotivas escenas de los padres de nuestro protagonista, en donde muestran que quieren al chico y que comprenden el peligro en el que está. También aparecerán Peter y Valentine, esta última para quedarse. Cerrando las historias de los personajes secundarios que conocimos en el primer libro, Ender decidirá irse a una colonia con el título de Almirante y Gobernador. Sin embargo, el viaje no será tranquilo. El comandante de la nave quiere adueñarse del lugar que se le ha sido otorgado a nuestro héroe, comenzando así una lucha política, burocrática y militar por el poder. Esta figura repelente, no tendrá miedo de usar las más radicales medidas para ganarle a Ender, incluso a una chica muy joven y bonita. Oh, no quiero contarles más acerca de la historia, porque es mejor que descubran los detalles durante la lectura, para que puedan sorprenderse con algunos giros de la historia.
Ender ya no es un niño, ahora es todo un adolescente que comenzará a experimentar un poco su juventud. Ahora es libre. Y sin embargo, hay varias cosas que lo atan: la enorme responsabilidad que tiene como gobernador, los insectores, su hermana y una misión que se autoimpondrá.
He sentido mucha nostalgia con el final que Orson le da a algunos personajes, es extraño verlos tan grandes de un libro para otro. Algunas escenas son realmente emotivas, como cierta pelea cuerpo a cuerpo que tendrá Ender. Otras causan risa, como una obra de teatro que se representará. Pero sobre todo, hay acción y mucho peso de la narración puesto en los personajes principales.
Me ha gustado mucho esta novela, tanto como la anterior. Esta tiene menos acción, pero más carga emotiva. Así que me es difícil decidirme por una de las dos. Sin dudas, ambas son muy buenas y las super recomiendo.

Twelve discs of meandering, bloated melodrama. I loved the original four Ender books. Card made Ender and Val too clever for their own good. Val especially came off as a manipulative, condescending snatch. i partially blame the actress reading her though. Mysogeny ahoy as well. This was probably one of the most unnecessary things I have ever read, and like the Bean books, cheapens the original story. For the love of god, OSC, please leave the Ender-verse alone.
I can't identify what it is about these books that make them so addicting... Ender is kind of a bland character. Even his faults are perfect. It's weird. Yet I haven't been able to put down any of the books I've read so far and I'm equally addicted to Speaker for the Dead so far... That in and of itself is rather intriguing. I think the small mysteries are what make the books engaging, rather than the overall plot as a whole.
The first thing I have to say is that I'm so confused by the reading order of this series. I've seen several different numberings for how to read the books, and I'm afraid I'm not reading them right. In any case, aside from that I'm enjoying the series. This book in particular goes back and tells a bit from Ender's Game only in a different perspective and with a bit more information. We also get to see what happens when Ender goes to the new colony. I liked learning about some new characters in this one as well. I've been listening to the audio books (except for the tales from enderverse book) and I like how there are different voices and accents throughout the reading. My kids, ages 10, 11 and 13 have all been enjoying the books as well.

На моменти ти се струва, че Кард се е сетил, че е оставил неясни доста неща, и решил да им отговори, като ги събере в един роман.
