Pros:
- cute romance in general
- trauma explained well
- character development
Cons:
- sry I hate Gus as a nickname idk why
- I don’t think they really understood what a literary fiction or romance book is. It seemed to me that they thought lit-fic was just messed up characters and messed up bad endings. Romance was written as happy rom-coms with happy endings and the world is perfect. They also acted like the 2 genres could never overlap, like they were polar opposites. As a reader who loves both, this just kinda annoyed me. Lit-fic is more than just messed up characters and romance is more than funny rom-coms. Both genres can also easily overlap, they’re not all that different.
Yeah overall I liked their banter and it was a cute summer read but for me, it had one big issue, preventing me from giving it a 5 star.
