I think this might be my favorite Emily Henry book. I really enjoyed it. I feel like this would be the perfect summer read for a beach vacation. I really loved how the main character's personalities complimented each other. This book is perfect for people who love grumpy x sunshine and the rivals to lovers trope.

I love reading books about authors. It was interesting because this book felt like multiple books at once. You have the overall story of the couples falling in love and then you have the other stories of the books the characters were writing.

This book was very layered. I like how each of the characters had their own individual storylines and they felt complex and real. Overall, this was a fantastic read.

This wasn't what I expected from the title and the blurb, or from the other books I've read by this author.

It's almost pure angst, complete with cult survivors. The MCs are at rock bottom and are desperately trying to stay afloat.

So many reviews are calling it the perfect summer read and instead the vibe to me was "misty woods in the bleakness of winter as your grieve the loss of a beloved family member and then proceed to trauma dump on the nearest stranger. "

It's not a bad book but it's also not a light-hearted beach read like I was led to expect.

This book has plenty of the things I enjoy in a romance (rivals to lovers, feelings of second chance romance, witty banter). I don’t love the third act conflict hinging on miscommunication but it still managed to not turn me off. It also deals with some heavier topics like death, cancer, and suicide, but shows the lives of the main characters in the midst of that, which lends it a more realistic feel. Not my favorite of Emily Henry’s novels, but definitely worth the read.
