[Listen--I never classified myself as a romance-genre girlie before now, but Emily Henry is convincing! I want to immediately gorge on her other books already!]
But honestly, I feel that to even simplify this book to a "romance" is grossly under-mining its other themes. This is just a book about people living their lives, which are full of grief, hard-work, and some surprises. People who happen to be falling in love. And I loved it. It whizzed by with its impressive characterization, realistic dialogue, and intricate--but charmingly believable--plot. Sweet and hopeful and happy, and so so refreshing to read. Henry balances invigorating plot with the comfort of knowing there will be a happy/hopeful ending so well. Bravo!

Another good, easy romance that didn't make me cringe from Emily Henry. I don't think I like it as much as book lovers, but I still enjoyed it. Not really huge on romance books because some of them make me uncomfortable for whatever reason but the ones from Emily Henry have always turned out surprisingly good.

It's complicated. I love how you get all the satisfaction of a romance book with a refreshing (though can be depressing) dash of a reality check. You get the feel that January wrote this book based on what you get from her character by the end. The main relationship is a messy romance kind, but the ones outside of that feel very real in a complexity sense.
