I cringed, I cried, I swooned 🙂‍↕️

A light, summer romance read that’s also an interesting look at grief, the truths we tell ourselves to get by, and  the ways that being known and being loved intersect and diverge into a puzzle we all have to piece together. I really am a sucker for a good romance~

“And that was the moment I realized: when the world felt dark and scary, love could whisk you off to go dancing; laughter could take some of the pain away; beauty could punch holes in your fear. I decided then that my life would be full of all three.“

OMG. Gah! I loved this book. I LOVE this book.

Heartwarming. Beautiful. Endearing.

So far my favorite of 2020.

❤️

Quick read. Some parts were entertaining and funny. I was Instagram marketed into reading this book, thinking it would be A light read. I’m not a good judge of these books. because I don’t really like romance novels. They don’t have much plot or real character development. This book could be better than most? I could tell there was interesting research into the location, the writing process for both genres, etc. Shrug.

Ok there were really some moments that I found quite cringy and not the most realistic. Also some really weird plot things (like, her dad has a secret house AND a boat, but yet lets his daughter drop out grad school to start working to pay her mother’s medical bills? Doesn’t add up for me.) Also this whole travelling circus family plot doesn’t seem very ‘literature-ish’ to me.

However I did really gobble it up and it reads really easily and warmed my heart a few times soo 2.5/3 stars seems good.
