Just Fall by Nina Sadowsky is a romantic psychological debut novel of two damaged, deeply flawed souls seeking love and happiness.
Rob and Ellie are deeply in love and are getting married. On the wedding day Rob confesses to Ellie that he is a killer. Ellie who found Rob after a few unsuccessful romances cannot believe it but she is also hiding some dark secrets of her own. He is then kidnapped from the wedding reception and for Ellie to save him she has to take someone’s life. Thus starts the harrowing ordeal in Ellie’s life where she tries to free and save Rob from his past.
It is an interesting story-line and the chapters alternate between “Now” and “Then”. The “Now” was pretty streamlines but the “Then” part was not in chronological order which took a little bit getting used to. The ending though good was a little rushed and left me with some questions. Overall I would give this book 3 1/2 stars, a good book for light reading with some twists and turns.
Many thanks to the publisher & NetGalley for this advance reader copy in exchange for my honest and fair review.

This line, y'all: How can you find out that the person you love is a killer…and continue to love him anyway? This line is what made me decide I NEEDED to read this book, and I was so right. The story is one that jumps right in, there's no build to the action and I loved that. I was intrigued from the first moment and read this in just a couple sittings because I needed to know what happened.
The only thing I would change about the book is the tense it's written in - while not uncommon, it distracted me and made it tough sometimes to not think "shouldn't it be phrased like...", which obviously pulls you out of the flow of the story! Otherwise, I really enjoyed it. And the then/now style was great - I wanted to know their backstory but I also didn't want to step away from the present day action, so I found that style to really work. Like others have mentioned, they're short sections, but I liked getting to see things from the his and her perspective.
3.5 stars

* I won this book through a Goodreads giveaway
* First off, I thought this was an admirable fist novel. The plot line was definitely something that sparked my interest "what happens when you find out your husband is a murderer -on your wedding day?" Switching the chapters between "Now" and "Then" was clever, and almost never confusing. The romance between Rob and Ellie was heartwarming, a ray of light in the messed-up world this couple finds themselves in. However I found some of the language, especially in the first chapter to be a bit exaggerated and didn't seem to match up with the rest of the novel. I also found Lou's death to be completely unnecessary, even if it was just to prove how evil these men were. I also found the character of Crazy B to be a bit useless in Ellie's escape. I think it would have been more interesting if Ellie had figured out an escape on her own. The books sentimental moments between Rob and Ellie outweighed the gory moments of Quinn and his business.

2.5* Meh. Just average overall: average characters, average plot, average ending. Nothing stood out. If I was reading a physical copy I would have tapped out. The audio turned into background noise for me. This was my second title from the author; I previously read Convince Me and loved it, this one not so much.
This book started pretty well, and I liked the then and now method of unraveling the suspense, but the more I read the less I liked it. I just didn't like the characters, I didn't understand their motivations, and then the plot takes a dramatic turn that just over-complicates the more unadulterated suspense. I'm sure countless people will be falling all over themselves in love with this book, but I wasn't sold.
The fine print: received ARC from Edelweiss.

Very few (if any) of the books compared to "Gone Girl" these days are actually anything like that book (which I loved), and this book is no different. Its only similarities to "Gone Girl" are that it's a mystery/thriller about a couple who are enigma to each other. It's an easy, entertaining read but Sadowsky's characters are not drawn with anything close to the startling insight into human nature that Gillian Flynn's are.
wow ..flawed characters. suspense. very difficult to put down and a twist at the end. the time lines were a bit hard to follow in the book at first
I received this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
Overall, I liked the book. It grabbed my attention from the start. Somewhere around the last 3rd of the book or so, it sort of fell flat for me.
The good: The twists, especially the last one. I totally did not see that coming!
The bad (for me):
-The Then vs. Now chapters. At first, I really liked it. It kept me hooked because the chapters would end with something crazy and I would fly through the pages to see what happened. After a while, probably when it started to fall flat towards the end, it got a little confusing for me. I would get so into the "Now" or the "Then" then have to switch gears to back in time or current time.
-The characters. I couldn't connect with any of them. They both went through some pretty messed up situations growing up, but I still did not feel anything for them.
-The ending. It just felt a little rushed to me. I had a bunch of questions at the end!
Overall, it was entertaining and I mostly enjoyed it (even though I listed more "bad" than "good").

Ok
Only three stars for this book I'm afraid. Mainly i think could be truly my fault! Just over half way, the charger broke for my kindle and I had to wait weeks to get a new one. By which time i had forgotten what the devil was going on in the story and lost track completely. However, sometimes I do put a book down and pick it up a few days/week later and I'm back on track within a few pages, with this book though because of the switching time periods, it was very hard to get on track again. I didn't connect with any of the characters and the story slightly sagged in the middle. However i always say please read the book yourself, you might like it and your kindle charger might not break! And Nina would of worked really hard to write the book so please read lol, enjoy!

Part way thru', trying to read as fast as I can to FINISH it. I'm surprised this got so many great reviews. Maybe they only read the first 10 pages or so. It started out great.... I'm annoyed with how the author slowly reveals bits and pieces of the past/backstory - it doesn't add to excitement, is just annoying. And it is so obvious that the author knows no real-life bad boys: she just writes a couple of paragraphs about childhood abuse, hard luck, life on the streets, that are like all the other stories. I'm 53% done and author still hasn't explained how a normal woman would decide to kill a man and go through with it. I don't buy it.
