I now understand the hype around Rumi’s poems. The poems are written beautifully and easily. They flow like water and allowed me to reflect on my own life as I read. I really enjoyed them and have earmarked a few I know I’ll come back to time and time again.

The poetry is wonderful at first glance, but after knowing that much has been erased from this “translation” I cannot, in good conscience, give this 5 stars.

After one year I finally finished the book. This book have stories, some of them are great, some you don't get at first time, some are heart wrenching, especially when rumi talks about shamas, some of the stories are enlightments and some stories will bring you closer to God. If you want to learn the language of universe please read this book for starters.
Love it. Many more of the poems that grabbed me were at the start of the book.
